
For an Automotive Component Mnaufacturer based in Bangalore
Major Job Responsibilities
• Supervise the local EHS team and act as Plant EHS Engineer.
• Be aware of changes in EHS regulations and advise Plant management of required actions.
• Manage the air, waste, noise and water discharges of the Plant to make sure that all meet legal and Corporate requirements.
• Take the leadership of maintaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management System for the Plant.
• Develop, Implement & Maintain a hazardous material control process for the Plant.
• Manage the EHS permit applications and renewal process for the Plant
• Manage and report on environmental metrics to Plant and Corporate staffs.
• Recommend annual EHS goals to the Plant Manager, monitor and communicate Plant performance
• Manage the Plant’s safety team to ensure that local programs achieves world class levels.
• Engage the Plant leadership by providing metrics on performance, continuous improvement goals and cost savings efforts.
• Forecast and manage the Plant’s EHS budget. Provide Plant management and project teams with cost estimates for new or upgraded EHS controls
• Ensure that all new projects have undergone an EHS review and that necessary controls have been budgeted and are provided. Manage the closure of all EHS audit findings within 6 months
• Ensure compliance of all safety guidelines and hold regular safety committee meetings
• Impart trainings on EH & S with focus on safety guidelines regularly
• Lead the complete EHS activity for Bangalore & Gurgaon Plants of Delphi Steering India
Major Job Qualifications / Experience / Education
(Required / Preferred)
• 5 to 8 years of EHS work experience in a manufacturing environment that demonstrates problem solving skills and continuous improvement accomplishments.
• Good understanding of local EHS regulations and corporate requirements, and their applications in a manufacturing facility.
• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Environmental engineering
• Good understanding of ISO14001 requirements to function as a lead auditor
• Certified lead auditor
• Good oral and written skills in local language Kannada and English.
• Be able to establish and use measurement systems to determine performance for compliance with environmental regulations.
• Be able to negotiate, communicate, and resolve EHS issues with both internal and external constituencies.
• Has good computer skill (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook, etc.)
• Have established relationships with local EHS agencies.
